Welcome to 3B’s webpage.
We are a class of 13 Year 7 and 8 students and we are known as 3B. We learn through topics as well as teaching core skills in English, Maths, Science and Computing. We also work on life skills where students access the school’s bungalow and the community to work on a variety skills to prepare them for life after Meadowgate and in PSHE we learn about personal hygiene, sex education, relationships and keeping ourselves safe in the real world and when using the Internet.
Last term was a very busy term that went very quickly and the students did brilliantly in our Evening of the Arts. This is an evening performance that is performed in front of parents and visitors and is a mixture of singing, acting and dancing acts. KS3 did a sketch from Annie where they acted out a scene and then sung ‘It’s a Hard Knock Life’ with a dance routine.
Moving on to this term which is a lot more settled and we can really focus on our work in which our first topic will be Our Community. During this topic, students will be learning about different buildings that we have in the community and their use. We will also be looking at people in the community that can help us and as part of this we are having a trip out to the fire station to learn about fire and water safety. Furthermore we are hoping to have a visit from the police who is going to talk to us about staying safe and behaviour and responsibilities when in the community. In Science, students will be learning about light and as part of this they will be taking part in various exploration activities and experiments. In PSHE students will be learning about the communities they belong to and the role that they have in the different communities.
